Has 8 rib mainspring housing, Remington Rand hammer, stamped trigger, etc. Remington Rand, based out of Syracuse, New York, began to ramp up production starting in about May 1943, and a total of about 900,000 pistols were manufactured for the U.S. Slide stop, thumb safety and mainspring housing are all serrated. I do see what appear to be withness marks from. There are no rebuild marks that I can see but the FJA looks double struck. Rear sight is a little dinged up on the sides. I recently purchased this 1911A1, all the markings seem very sharp and clear but I have reviewed Clausons book and suspect the frame is a Remington Rand while the slide is an Ithica. It has been refinished in a light gray shade and used. Has the small 3rd Remington Rand logo on the slide.

The FJA marking is large and angles down in front of the. It's got the late slide marking on the left side, serrated slide stop and mainspring housing. He had the serial number buffed off so I can't determine the date manufactured in that way. Description: I have for sale a Remington Rand 1911A1 WWII GI.
